Dear BBIA Members:

As convention chairperson for this year’s BBIA convention, I tried to choose a location that offered great weather and amenities for all while providing us with the business facilities and environment to conduct our annual meeting. I think that the Hilton LaJolla Torrey Pines does all of that. The hotel property can be seen in the background and that’s one of the Torrey Pines fairways in the foreground in the picture at the right.
Flights in and out can be via any of the metro LA airports while San Diego International Airport is closest. Shuttles from San Diego Int’l airport are available and rental cars are an easy choice from all the airports. For golfers, the world famous Torrey Pines courses are right out the back of the hotel and the San Diego area boasts many other fine courses. I didn't realize it, but the Torrey Pines courses are municipal golf courses owned and managed by the City Of San Diego. LaJolla Village is a short drive away with its shopping, dining and plenty of freshly caught seafood.
The San Diego area is home to multiple entertainment opportunities including the San Diego Padres, the historic and fun Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego, deep sea fishing, desert adventures and lots of sightseeing opportunities.
Last year’s event in Sandestin will be a tough act to follow. That was a great venue and I’d love to see us go back there again. With all of the amenities in Sandestin Village, we did not have a hospitality suite last year. There will be a hospitality suite this year. Specific info will be provided at the convention.
The agenda is full and can be expected to be informative and as always will have its share of controversy. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in LaJolla in April for both an enjoyable and beneficial annual BBIA convention.
Best regards,
Convention Chairperson
